In October, three of our residents at Recovery House, successfully completed their 6 month programme of recovery with us, having moved in within days of each other. As these are Recovery House’s first successful graduates, we chose to celebrate with a lunchtime ‘do’ after a church service which also marked their achievement. 72 people celebrated together, this included family and friends who had been supportive of each of the residents, some of whom were people who they had met through local AA and NA groups during their treatment, and also our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Two of our graduates are now living in our Dry House, ‘Pathways’, and one has moved back home to his wife and children. All are doing very well and we are all very proud of their achievement and ongoing focus on recovery – each are still very much part of the life of Recovery House and are Peer Mentors at the house, coming alongside our newer residents, encouraging and spurring them on.
