The largest event was the Summer Fete on Saturday 30th July 2016. The event was well attended and had over 20 stallholders, soft play equipment, a bouncy castle, glitter face painting, balloon modelling and exotic reptiles. Colworth Golf Club set up a crazy golf course and Kings Cottage nursery ran various activities from playdough to making wind socks! The Colworth Rugby Club ran a competitive target ball challenge while the History Society conducted tours of the main house.
The annual Colworth Park Christmas market held in the Lecture Theatre was another opportunity to top up the charity fund. This was organised by the Conference & Event team and was made up of 30 stallholders selling a range of goods including many Christmas items.
Another key event was organised by Unilever employees based at Colworth Park. Their staff members hosted their own Christmas pantomime, ‘Snow White and the 3 and Half Dwarves’ in our Lecture Theatre. Tickets were sold to staff and tenants onsite and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
In total £2,250 was raised, giving a massive £750 per charity. On Friday 21st April, representatives from each charity were invited to Colworth Park for a lunch and cheque presentation. Sara Owst and Sam Poulton are pictured above receiving the cheque. The hospitality team produced a buffet lunch which was enjoyed by everyone.
East Northants Community Services would like to say a huge thank you to Colworth Park and all of the other organisations involved for all the effort that they have put in over the year. The donation is gratefully received and will be put to use helping those in East Northants who are most needy.
