First Aid for Youth Workers

DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for youth workers, teachers to have a basic understanding of first aid techniques for conditions that they may encounter when looking after children. The course covers primary and secondary care skills.
This first aid course fully meets the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.
Certificates valid for 3 years.

Managing an emergency situation
The importance of communication
Casualty care
Initial assessment
Allergic reaction and the use of auto-injectors
Asthma
Bleeding management
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Burns
Choking adult, child and infant
Head injuries
Seizures
CPR adult, child and infant
Treatment of an unconscious casualty
Minor injuries including nose bleeds
