The meeting will focus on issues of how we serve with reference to the local and global poor.
Our main speaker presenting a global perspective is Martin Gage of Christian Aid who will lead a short presentation and discussion around the topic of “The Poor will always be with you” – a practical exploration of ways we can be involved in working towards ending world poverty.
This will be followed by input from Nick Amis of the Cinnamon Network who will introduce us to the new initiative “Christians who Lead” – A way of recognizing, supporting and developing lay leadership at every level of society.
We will end with a summary of the work and ministry of the Frontier Centre our gracious hosts and be able to hear how they serve the community, how we can build and partner with them as a local service.
As ever, a buffet lunch will be provided alongside welcome drinks and refreshments. There will also be lots of time for catching up with others and vital networking.
Whilst there is no cost of this event we would expect a suggested donation of £5 on the day to cover food and other costs associated with the setting up of this Community Leaders’ Lunch.
